An experienced Registered Manager is needed to work in a six bedded home for children between 12-18yrs with behavioural problems. You must be able to demonstrate self-belief and ability to display decisiveness and able to act calmly and purposefully in crisis situations. You must have direct experience of team leadership, facilitation and supervision.  You will need excellent communication skills verbally and written.  You will need to have hands on approach and be able to provide a friendly and supportive working environment for all your staff and ensure that the quality of life and educational opportunity of children in care is maximised by timely, stable residential placements that are comprehensively supported
You will be required to work corporately, collaboratively and particularly as part of the senior management team and to ensure that the children's home adhere to the National Care Standards and all relevant legislation. To be flexible and appropriate in response to the overall operational senior management need of the Company.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to act as an ambassador for the Head of Care and the Managing Director to uphold and enhance the good name and reputation of the company.  You will oversee the full management of the home, including staff and delegated budget, the resources and fabric of the building, and the welfare of the children.
To keep up-to-date with social care practice and relevant legislation guidance
to deputise, as required for the Operational Manager
To contribute to effective team and service business planning and performance monitoring to drive continuous improvement
to ensure that a performance focus is embedded in all care staff and the provision of reports and information to a range of professionals as required
To have overall responsibility for the Home's capital assets and to manage the use of its building(s) and associated budgets
You must be able to prioritise effectively. Manage and adapt to change for self and staff team.  Able to create solutions in response to challenges whilst working within agreed parameters
You must be able to motivate staff and develop individual and team performance through stained supervision and feedback
able to facilitate others to work together effectively in a team
Train in the 'Break away and restraint technique' approach and apply to practice and practical supervision of staff
You must be keen to identify and act on opportunities and use initiative.  Positive outlook, showing determination and persistence in pursuing objectives
You must be able to manage own time and paperwork effectively to meet goals including care planning, standard setting and monitoring experience.
You must have good listening skills, report writing skills, awareness of the skills and processes involved in effectively leading meeting and reviews.  You must have experience of formal presentations and chairing meetings.  You must be able to prepare and present reports, written and verbal
You must be prepared to carry out and perform hands on duties in times of emergencies in order to assist the staff members including being on call in order to relieve the line managers.

You must be able to demonstrate ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with all professional colleagues and service users. You must be able to influence, persuade and buiod alliances.  You must be able to domonstrate the skills and processes necessary to lead a staff team.  You must be able to provide members with confidence, inspiration, direction and guidance
